Sheryl Crow - Santa Monica Boulevard, spoilt by the cheesy limp drumming

The last song on The Thrills CD, spoilt by the fact that it is "hidden" and you can't access it directly.

Free - Alright Now, spoilt by being overplayed to death so you can't bear to hear it ever again

Disagree, still one of the greatest rock singles, in fact rock songs, off all time IMHO, singles of this quality in the charts today would really shake up the music biz.

If you're going to have a moan you should at least do it properly... I think you mean "All I Wanna Do" rather than Santa Monica Boulevard, but the other problem regarding accuracy here is it's a good record.

If you want a good example of a song ruined then just print out a list of everything Michael Bolton has ever covered. Lesser evils are good songs which are covered by a mediocre pop outfit with no changes except no feeling in the vocals and the inexplicable presence of a drum machine working overtime in the background. Someboday played such a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" on the radio the other day, leaving me thinking "why bother?" (yes, yes, I know the answer is $$$s).

Pete - OK..."All I Wanna Do" then. I agree it is a good song. My point exactly, but spoilt by the drummer. Go on then, just listen to it again and pay attention to the drumming. Let us know what you think after.

Oh...and the other think is that, don't you think that everything put out by boy bands now sound like Michael Bolton? Maybe he was just a bit before his time. Wink

No, the boy bands are doing slick and faceless, MB is trying too hard to add so much damn sincere meaning that he sounds like he's in pain the whole time. I rather wish he was as that's how he makes me feel, but sadly not the case AFAICT...

Ah, but if you heard ALL the lyrics, some of them are OK (if it's the track I THINK you mean).

Besides, you can always stick her on on MTV and mute the sound - yum yum!!! I'll take her, and home, n'allright!
