New Name Range

By the way - how do you feel about the new "tags"?
When I first joined as a customer I queried my “Junior" status - being grizzled and horribly experienced.
Juniors are now "New". Then you are reborn as a Member - a while later you become "Senior". (New Members stay New for longer than before – please be considerate, and report any obvious “Trolls”).
Hope that last has not been devalued by the "Senior Citizen" euphemism so beloved by governments of contemptuous yoofs.

Or, turn Deane's list around and reflect listening to music vs. posting on the Naim board...
I do like the Marx Brothers reference. Some of us might be more aptly described using Larry, Moe and Curly (or Shemp or Curly Joe).

David,
I thought about that.
But I thought this Forum is slightly higher calibre than the Three Stooges level.
Deane,
You've missed the Squeez Box Owner somewhere.

Deane,
From my POV, that's dead on the money!
Kuma,
I think that on your Marx Brothers scale, NB is almost Groucho x 2 !!
Cheers,
JR

The member name should be based on the number of posts divided by the number of days or weeks since the individual signed up to the forum
the actual titles being
being a function of the rate of posting.
eg
Low rate - Passive or Lurker
Medium rate - Does he/she have a job
High rate - Go outside and get a life.

Isn't there enough heirarchy in our systems without connecting it to members' posting status?
Why not allow a bit of self-expression in the choice? Provided it contains the term "member".
The actual choice (and any later mind-changing) could be serviced from the member's profile page. The default would remain "member" for those who don't care to dabble in such trivia.

But we are still 'Harpo'. i.e. 'mute'.

BTW, what do I get when I hit the 10,000 mark?
Posted on: 16 February 2005 by Rasher
Freedom Of The City status, which should get you into the mysterious locked Trading Post. You can tell us what happens there.
I wonder if the counter will support 5 digits, or whether you go back to 1, which will automatically demote you to a Junior Member.

Would that include the freedom to help oneself to anything from the Naim warehouse?

It didn't go back to 1 when I went past 100,000 views on the jaw thread so hopefully it won't go cabk to 1 when I hit 10,000 posts!
