Help with I-pod headphones please?

Posted by: Steve2701 on 20 January 2005

My daughter is having problems with the supplied 'ear-phones'that came with her i-pod mini, and would like some that are much more comfortable, preferably not in ear, and that the i-pod can power without a head amp? She is off shopping tomorrow, so any suggestions would be very welcome. (
Amazing, that as she knows I am on here and have read her some of the reviews from here, this is the first place I have been asked to ask for assistance!

Ive used a pair of these with an iPOD and they are quite good. You lose a little bass with them but the rest is a big improvement on the standard ones..

Senn PX200

Grado SR60's work really well, but they dont look at all cool so I dont think your daughter wont thank you for those!

lastly it may still be worth considering some in ears like the sony EX71's these sit right in your ear and i found them much much more comfortable than the standard ones.. sound is good too.. the only draw back (for some) is that they block out sound from the enviroment.. this is good for the music especially on planes/trains etc but not to everyones taste..

good luck!

Hawk,
Many thanks for the info, and they appear to be ideal!
Will be hunting a pair down somewhere in Birmingham now...
