A full English/Irish breakie at any other time other than breakfast.

Can't beat a bit of 'brown' food!

A tin of macaroni cheese with half a packet of frozen prawns & a some peas stirred in. Simmer for a few minutes & serve behind drawn curtains.

Enchiladas, black beans, minted rice, and a side of tortilla chips and guacamole.

My comfort food is probably cheese and biscuits (oatcakes preferrably).

Now that I no longer eat sweet things it has to be a nice blue cheese accompanied by a glass of port.

Has anyone said chocolate yet?

No?

OK; chocolate then.

Particularly easter eggs from the fridge or the freezer.

I'm with central on this one, except in younger days I used to dip the toast into the tea. This of course made it all soggy causing fat globules to float about on top of the tea. Everso yummy.

Huevos Rancheros. Sort of mid-way between Stevie and Ludwig.

What a great thread.

A baked potato, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with a lotta cheese, all mashed up.

Or boiled eggs with soldiers.

Or banana-and-honey sandwiches.

Or home-made soup (+ blanket + TV).

Or - my most popular standby - a tub of Häagen Dazs and half a bottle of Jack Daniel's (+ blanket + black & white movie).

I like a lot of comfort in my life (sob!).

Ultimate confort food.

Clear winner:

Macaroni cheese with bacon bit with onions
Hot buttered toast (white) and a vienna coffee.

Lovely.

Chaps

The thought of you lot stuffing yourselves with some of the junk listed in this thread is offputting.

You project an image of pigging it up whilst dressed in a bright orange vest and shell suit bottoms. I dare say some of you wear a base ball cap.

The only ray of hope came from our resident pinko who was quite rightly appalled at the thought of curry sauce being poured over fish and chips.

Chips should be banned full stop, they epitomise the lowest aspects of English food. They are only fit to be served in a beefburger joint and if you eat beefburgers in a beefburger joint, you are beyond all hope.

So what made you a fat bastard then Mick, if it wasn't chips and burgers?

Well actually it was lots of goods meals in lots of good restaurants.

"I dare say some of you wear a base ball cap"

Preumably that's a "ball cap" with a rude picture on it?

"The only ray of hope came from our resident pinko who was quite rightly appalled at the thought of curry sauce being poured over fish and chips"

Only becuase they would be better with my Mum's gravy.

Who are these people in track suits to whom members here often refer?
Posted on: 26 April 2004 by Bubblechild
Snobs? Nous?

I was so disappointed the first time someone pointed out a 'shellsuit' to me. I had pictured some sort of rustic beach wear.

Fortunately, polarising windows seem to minimise the glare given off by nylon-bedecked proles if one absolutely has to drive through certain areas of town.

Sigh.
