Speakers with NAIT 1

Posted by: BigH47 on 21 March 2004

Now my 140 is back from service (and bloody good it sounds too) I have a spare NAIT1. I want to make a second system in the bedroom but space is at a premium at the moment. The speakers will have to sit at either end of the a computer desk about 4ft apart. I was looking size wise at something like Warfdale Diamonds.
Are there any other suggestions for v small speakers?

Hi

How about Rega Ela's, floorstanders but with a small footprint. Great in small rooms Wink.

Mission 760's. Undemanding, not fussy or revealing and hardly the last word in accuracy but definitely fun and willing to boogie. I have this combination under my workbench.

1. Original Heybrook HB1s, usually under 50 quid off eBay. Fabulous cheap speaker which puts much modern stuff to shame. Happy against the wall.

2. Kef Crestas, about 50 quid new from Richers. Need a bit nore space, but smaller box than HB1s.

3. Kans, with SoundOrg wall brackets. Smallest of the lot, but your source better be good. Probably about 250quid, and about 20 for the brackets.

Best;

Royd Connistons or Royd Envoys or Royd A7 if you're looking 2nd hand.
If you're looking for new, Royd whatever their small speaker is called nowadays!

Mordant-Short MS10i. These are really rather good for the money - about £60 a pair when Richer Sounds were last flogging them off.

The Goodmans Maxim 2 is an excellent used buy at around £30.

Please don't blame me if you hate 'em!
Mind you at that price, I don't think you can go fasr wrong.
They are a great little inexpensive speaker with good timing etc.
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts Smile

Please only send 'em round if they're ruggedly handsome Red Face
