Play on! Two great refs

First there was the Spanish (IIRC) bloke in the Chelsea-Arsenal anticlimax. Then the Italian fella in one of the best goalless draws I've ever seen - Barcelona v Celtic (spoken as a totally objective Celtic fan).

Two outstanding referees kept both games moving, allowed strong challenges, and ignored the cheats who are threatening to ruin football (and have already made the Bundesliga unwatchable).

I especially loathe players who make that pathetic "give that nasty man a card" gesture. Ronaldinho is good enough that he doesn't need to resort to that crap. And, while I'm at it, he should cut off those girly locks.

What a refreshing change from the dismal buffoons who officiate most Premiership games.

I take it you're including Petrov in with those as he was rightly booked for one of the most cynical pieces of diving I've seen.

One second he's on the ground rolling about in supposed agony, the ref tells him to get up and immediately he's able to sprint at full pace after the ball.

Absolutely, Steve. Whether it's Stan or anyone else, I want to see cheating punished.

The referee was superb.
