A very interesting series.
Is the Mozart Requiem the music used in the opening and closing sequences?

I’m afraid I don’t know – I’m not a classical expert but I think it will be a very thought provoking concert.

Having been at Auschwitz briefly at the end of last year it was interesting to see the second half of the 'concert'. It is difficult to grasp the enormity of what happened there (maybe impossible to) but it is something that I can see being forgotten to quickly, in 20 years it will no longer be memories but history. What's saddest is that you look around the world today and you see the same actions repeated over and over.

Does anyone remember Jacob Bronowski's The Ascent of Man?

The ascent of Man
Most memorable scene was Bronowski at Auschwitz crouching in a pond of water and ashes from the crematoria and he picked up a handfull of the ash water mix and made a comment about bearing witness being the remains or something of his family - the memory might be distorted now - but is was a very powerful scene
Memory being somewhat refreshed by having the book of The Ascent of Man open on my desk looking at a picture of the pond scene
