I like regular 'Bud' - what's the difference?

You know it makes sense Cool

...for me,the world stopped making sense about an hour ago after a couple of pints of Tim Taylors Landlord at the pub, washed down with a couple of bottles of red wine, when we arrived back.

Regular Bud has rice is added to bulk up the carbo-hydrate yield at lower cost. The result is a thinner and more insipid taste, imho. With this beer you pay for the marketing and sponsorship, not the ingredients.

Czech Budvar uses only pure malt, hops (female flowers only for a more distinctive aroma,) yeast and very soft water drawn from wells 300m deep.

It is brewed exclusively by the brewery in Ceské Budejovice, about 100km south of Prague.

It is sold in packs of four 33cl bottles, four 50cl cans or individually in 50cl bottles

Tonight I'm drinking cheap Sainte Etienne Belgian lager, £2.49 for 4 x 500ml cans from Aldi, and Baltika No.3 brewed in St. Petersburg, £1.53 per 50cl bottle from Tesco. (The No.5 is better by far, having more body and flavour. I hope it will one day become available here...)

Regards,

Steve.

"Respect",not entirely deserved ....

Happily/luckily,the wine was shared between Andy H. & myself.

No way could I drink that quantity and survive to tell the tale !

So this is the new "official" beer thread then, the difference being what you intend to drink and not what you have drunk.

Steve.
