Vinyl Bargains
Posted by: Mr Underhill on 27 March 2004
Sorry - I posted this on PFM a week or so ago, I assumed that most of us probably browse both.
This is a plug for a Record Shop, yes I'll say that again a RECORD Shop in Epsom.
It is currently selling classical box sets at £3 a shot and albums for 50p.
All the ones I looked at were in first rate condition; I accept that they may have been played on a record lathe, but at these prices you can't loose.
The shop in ownedand run by Kevin:
Epsom Record Centre,
31, South Street,
KT18 7PJ
01372 727518
He sells all genres of vinyl and CDs, he even has a few DVD-A on sale.
I bought the following box sets:
Elgar, Boult - The Dream of Gerontius; EMI (Stereo/Quad!).
Straus, Solti - Der Rosenkavalier; Decca.
Music of Cole Porter; RCA Red Seal.
Bruckner, Haitink - 7th & Te Deum; Philips.
Great Piano Masterpieces, Various; DG.
Beethoven, Solti - 9th; Decca;
Lehar, Wallberg - Friederike; EMI.
Verdi, Abbado - Simon Boccanegro; DG.
and these albums:
George Benson 'Live in Concert' - £5;
Rush 'Exit...Stage Left' - £5.
This guy is really worth supporting.
If you do pay a visit can you mention the internet and PFM, you won't gain anything but was suggesting there is a target audience here that he might tap into.
