Rack shape

Posted by: Marc Evans on 06 April 2004

I'm trying to find a new rack for my various boxes. I've seen some quite nice kit with two supports at the front and one single leg at the back but I would assume that the amp has to hang off the back of the rack due to the Naim speaker connections and that right angled plug they insist on.

Logically then the amp wouldn't fit on a rack of this shape. Am I wrong in this assumption? Will a Naim power amp fit on something like an atacama?

This seems to work so I guess there is no problem.

Seriously your question is reasonable but it is no harder to connect up on a 3 legged rack than one with 4. If it is a bit difficult to come up from below to the amp terminals, loop the cable and come down from above

I can't see the picture for some reason but the idea of reversing the cable and coming in from above does make sense.

Thanks.

If you see a box with a red X that means you need to "log in". Once logged in you should see the photo.

Anway if you go here you will find I am talking about Fraim:

If you click on the piccy there it will show a n empty rack and you will see why I made my comment on the 3 legged rack.
