Lifespan of CD-rs and DVD-rs

What is the expected lifespan of these recordable/re-recordable media, is it as long as "factory" CDs. I am keen to know as I wish to archive some vinyl, camcorder and photo footage but am a sceptical having some early music CD go "rusty"

They scratch very easily and deteriorate that way. If they are important, then make a second copy and store it as a master

Those are BOUND to be pressed by PDO. If you do a directory enquiries or websearch for Philips DuPont Optical Blackburn, you can contact PDO and get these replaced FOC.

I had one disc from them pressed as late as 1994 that went off... I've had them all replaced Smile
