72 and BNC question
Posted by: kid spatula on 09 April 2004
hello
i have a 72 winging its way to me.
am i right in saying that most standard 72s have bnc connectors for the phono inputs?
if so, i guess this means i will have to get a phono to bnc adaptor to plug my p25 into the 72.

KS,
72 is a super preamp - i'm sure you'll love it as i did mine when i first got it!
differences between adaptors and bnc connectors directly soldered is not huge, but noticeable.
don't spoil the ship......

thanks all.
since i only have a "record player" this was quite an important thing for me - imagine getting a new amp and not being able to listen to it!

When I bought my 32.5/snaps/250 my dealer
could not find the bnc/phono converters so
he [having asked me] replaced the bnc plugs
with phonos. Thanks !!
James
I think either change your phono plugs to
bnc or change your sockets to phono -- don't
use converters.

i want to upgrade my p25 to an lp12 sometime in the next few years and i think changing the plugs would damage its resale value, so convertors are a good bet for now.
mmmmm. lp12.

alex, you are a scholar and a gentleman.
unfortunately, i have already lined maplin's pockets with the princely sum of six pounds and thirty five pence.
thanks for the offer though, i am delighted to be a member of such a considerate and generous forum.
