hi all,
this is a warning to all of you thinking of buying a new cdx2. DONT!!
unless your prepared to spend vast amounts of your hard earned cash on expanding your cd collection because the cdx2 sounds so good youll want to get all those cds youve been meaning to get for many a year.

Scotty - I've been saving up for a CDX2 for what seems like an eternity and posts like yours are not helping!
I could have had a CD5 + FC2 by now, but, no, I had to go and do a demo of a CDX2. I almost can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It won't be long now (I hope).

Scotty
I could not agree more. I took delievery on mine on Monday and spent half of last night listening to everything 'wondering how good this will sound....'
Things for me can only get better. It still has a long way to go before it is fully warmed up
Cheers

Guys
Went for a demo of a CDX2 on Saturday. I took my old Woodside/ DaCapo combination with me for an AB test.
The CDX2 on its own was a great improvement. They then added the XPS2 and up we went another level and then, of course, they hooked up the CDS3.
Fortunately, for me that is, the CDS3 was a bit cold so the differences between the CDX2 and the CDX2/XPS2 were much greater than the CDX2/XPS2 to CDS3/XPS2. As such, I escaped with only having to spend a major amount of money as opposed to an obscene amount.
Can't now wait to have the kit delivered (about another week or so) and start getting it warmed up.
Will let you know how things go........

Had my CDX2 for about a year now. Agree with everything everybody says. Don't listen uless you intend to buy.
ALSO
There seems to be quite a little club of people with CDX2's who got theïr order for an XPS2 in ust before the April price rise and are waiting for or have just received said item.
Mine comes late next week.
Watch out for a barrage of posts on the XPS2 "effect" in the near future

Geoff, speaking of this price rise...
Can you perhaps tell me if there's also been a price rice in the Netherlands, since April 1 ?
(if so, how much ?)

I haven't noticed them on the Phonologic site. I believe the prices on their site were updated pretty recently. Don't know if we can expect another rise. I was ahead of a possible rise in preces though/
I do have my CDX2 now(I got it on April Fools, wasn't a joke though) , but currently I have a wager with a friend of mine. I buy CD's pretty frequently (and rightfully so
But I agree with most, do'nt listen to the CDX2 unless you have a sensible bank balance. You'll be hooked. It's worth every single Euro, Pund, Dollar, Rupie, Yen, Crown, or wathever currency! It's probably worth it's weight in gold
Cheers!

Alco, Kevin
"Huumph" (sound of me clearing my throat in slight embarassment)
I buy in the UK so I don't know about what has happened to prices in Benelux.

Geoff,
I did know that, but Alco probably didn't. Easier for you than for us to buy in the UK.
And it's ok, we understand, you buy the stuff legally, and who wouldn't want to save some cash? Buys you even more Naim! Come to think of it, that probably means it doesn't sav you cash. It's just spent differently on more boxes
.

Cheers!

Do NOT have a home-demo of an XPS2 if you are happy with your run-in CDX2 (as I was). It will make it sound broken. I made that mistake and now have a broken bank-account.
