I'd prefer this

Well those two posts sum up exactly why this is the one for me. The 2-door is quite impractical in many ways, (£19000 for a 2-door hatchback?!) and a Ferrari would end up round the first lamppost in my hands.
Looks good to me!

I have a new A3 2.0 TDI. It is is a fine thing, if essentially rather dull. Good job I have my toy for weekends!
The 5 door A3 is going to be competing with a somewhat different segment to the hatch I wonder how it will fare?

Mines a 2.0TDI Sport non-quattro. It is the most sensible everyday car I have owned and although it lacks the enjoyment of the Alfa 147 it replaced it has subtle qualities and I do not regret the choice.
Whilst never a tactile treat the handling is sure-footed and with the elastic and powerful engine it is surprisingly quick, comfortable and rather effortless. Economy is fine and build quality exemplary.
I'd be cautious to buy the DSG box myself. The A3 is not a sports car really and with a decent rev range and great flexibility I'm not sure I'd see an advantage over the 6 speed with the 2.0 diesel-especially for the extra cost. I had the (inferior and unreliable) Selespeed on my Alfa, fun at times but suited the more sporty character. When the gimmick wears off it looks like poor value.
If you want to know any more then set up a PT if you like.

A guy round here has the same wing as the 612 on his Honda very professional. Maybe they are planning a selling blitz in Essex?
