Who is Harry Pearson?

I've been told that an LP I bought in a charity shop yesterday is on "Harry Pearson's list of good recordings" or something like that. A web search seems to pull out a load of mundane interviews about Hifi stuff. Can anyone give me a brief overview of his 'list' and what that's all about? Never even heard of him before.

Harry Pearson is the originator of The Absolute Sound magazine, usually HP when referenced in that magazine.
