Thats what I thought initially too.
But its advertized as "better than the Nat01"
Maybe somebody from naim could comment.

the 101 was the tuner below the 01 back in the late 80`s. It had a snaps power supply I believe. The tuning dial was old fashioned in that it was a cylinder that had all the fm numbers written on it and you would rotate the cylinder to see what the station was. It did not light up the station number like even the old style 01 does. I bought my 01 (old style) around `89 or `90 and I could have gotten a demo 101 but decided to spend more and get the 01- I am glad that I did! david.

Franz,
Naim's Web site says that the NAT 101, which was introduced in 1986, was replaced by NAT 02 in 1989.

I have a friend who has a 101. Its really cool if you are in the retro Naim look. It has a analog dial instead of a digital read-out. Not sure how it stacks up agains the current tuner but I suppose its somewhere between the 03 and 02. It does have a seperate powersuppy that looks like a snapps.
I would buy it just on the cool-naim-history factor.
Hey Naim, is the 101 serviceable?
