I need to sync Palm with Outlook

Posted by: garyi on 10 August 2004

Guys I have a palm at home using isync and the cradle its all rather easy, all events get transferred between the two in ical and all addresses etc do the same no problem.

However I now need to access dates in outlook at work, this is going to become very important. My plan was to purchase another cradle. However a brief foray around the web suggest I need to spend another 50 quid on a bit of software which will allow my to sync with outlook!

By gods there has to be a cheaper (ie.free) way to do this?

I have to use outlook so that can;t be changed, any help appreciated.

Thanks mat, however as usual with PCs this is going to be a no go.

I purchased the palm from curries with a discount because it had no CD, apparently the conduit for syncing with outlook is only available on the CD, I also run palm 4 so the outlook conduits for 5 won't work.

Why do they make it so hard to do the thing they are supposed to do. This bloody palm is supposed to sync my address, to dos and calender events, it does it on a mac flawlessly and with no configuring, why is it not possible on a PC.

Gary, is this any help? I am guessing that if you didn't get the CD, you don't have intellisync, so it wont be. I read that the Chapura software is pretty good if you do have to buy.

I doubt you'd have been any better off with a Pocket PC, as I hear they are pretty crap with macs.

Thanks Mekon.

The long and short is if I want the palm to be productive on a PC I have to fork out another 40 quid.

What a bunch of arse.
