Are they a good company, or not?....

I wasn't thinking of working for them, just curious about them, with their apparent connection with animal testing and dreadful products such as 'head and shoulders' etc.

(not that I need much shampoo these days...)

Not too much into company politics either, I quite like my job, but not the politics, mind you I guess there'a politics wherever you go...

I'll pass on the pringles!

Any company involved in cosmetics or pharnaceuticals will be into animal testing. P+G arn't special in any way. You'd be forgiven for thinking these companies actually enjoyed harming animals - which seems to be the received 'wosdom'. Does anybody seriously believe they'd do the experiments if the law didn't require it?

It's about time legislation was seriously overhauled in this area. And while they're at it, they should take a look at the aimless torture of animals which goes on and on in research with no benefit to anyone at the end of it.

Some companies claim they don't do animal testing. This is nothing more than marketing. Some pay third parties to do their dirty work for them. Others sell products which do not require testing - because the data is already on file i.e. the butchering's been done historically.

Sorry.

You can buy fly-spray in Sainsbury's that says "Not Tested on Animals" (true)

This isn't quite true. Many cosmetic companies use materials that have never been tested on animals - not everything has. However if this bloody stupid useless new EU legislation for testing bloody everything has its day everything will be. See....
