Spiderman 2

Saw this last night. Great film but:
Dr Octopus with those huge metal arms plugged into his spine. How come he can still stand up under the weight of them? And how come he didn't get sucked into the fusion mass when every other metal object - including the building - was?
Great film spoilt only by silly little details that make it implausible. Shame.

You mean like a man who can walk up walls and shoot webbing from his hands?

Wink

Its a comic for goodness sake. Nothing makes sense. Kirstin Dunst is a model in the movie! The guy who plays Norman Osbourne is supposed to be an actor!

Great film though. The first one was OK but this was miles better.

The thing that suprised me most about Sipderman 2 is how utterly depressed the movie is. I'm not saying depressing, but depressed. Failure, doom, and failure again. It's a very bluesy story - although the word story suggest goign from A to Z, and that doesn;t seem to happen either.

The other thing is the people who make these Spiderman movies really have a hangup about Dunst getting her hair wet, don't know why.

I thought it was a fantastic movie. Yes it is rather dark isn't it. The poor old aunt and the terrible lodgings - but little glipses of light with the landlords daughter and little Henry the kid across the road. Very well put together and surprisingly human for a superhero film. I haven't seen the first one but although I know it isn't a patch on this one, I think I'll have to grab a copy.

Come on Rasher you wern't paying attention. The arms were stated to be non-magnetic and impervious to the effects of the Reaction.

I think they may have also mentioned super lightweight (but I can't remember this for certain!).

We'll only let you into 'U' films from now on if you can't follow the plot of a PG. Roll Eyes

I went to see Thunderbirds on Sunday and really enjoyed that too.
I promise to pay more attention next time - I think I may have missed those lame excuses in the script when I was juggling with Smarties, a huge coke and a bucket of popcorn whilst nagging my mum to go to McDonalds after. When I grow up I want to go and see I,Robot (Thursday).

Apple really missed a marketing oppertunity in iRobot...

It's a pretty good film too. Hardly anything like the book and a couple of 'hollywood' annoyances, but overall a B+

Unattractive robots though. I can't imagine why in whatever century this is set, they wouldn't make them a bit better looking - like the Fembots in Austin Powers for instance. Much more believable. Smile

Maddox's review of I, Robot extinguished any chance that I might get draggged along to see the Fresh Prince's latest.

So do I. I love those people.

I once rented a movie purely on the basis of the back cover showing Dunst in a bikini. Apart from her actually appearing in a bikini in one of the scenes, it turned out to be a fine example of the (much maligned) genre of the high school movie -- very well constructed, with some post-modernist elements (no idea what that means, but I really love to read myself writing it).
