DAB radio

I have several radios in the house, often all on at the same time. I notice that the digital output is a little delayed compared to analogue. I suppose this means that the time signature (the pips) is inaccurate (I'd always assumed that the analogue one was accurate).
Any thoughts?

As the pips are iirc accurate and on time then by placing several radios around the house you may well hear time travel as the pips move from room to room Eek

From http://www.digitalradionow.com

"The techy answer is when the station originates as an analogue broadcast, the signal must be transformed into a digital transmission using Mpeg2 encoding and COFDM modulation. This takes a couple of seconds, hence the delay when you hear it come out the other end.

So, when you hear the 9 o’clock news, it’s actually about 9:00:02!"
Stick wiv FM DAB is shite BTW
