Famous Classical Choral arrangement

Posted by: Aric on 04 October 2004

Hi all,

I need help in indentifing a famous classical choral piece that has been used in countless movies, commericals, sporting events etc. I'm afraid I have no idea on the composer. In fact, I really can't offer much in the way of possibilities. The only thing I can remember about the chorus was that it was particularly dependent upon women.

If there is a piece that would define "epic" this would be it. I hope someone can help me out as it's become maddening trying to figure it out and remember.

Regards,

Aric

Thanks Tom,

Although I know it's not Beethoven's 9th. I'll check out Mozart's stuff though.

Thanks,
Aric

djc,

you're absolutely right! it was Orff - Carmina Burana O Fortuna Big Grin

i'm sure this was obvious to many of you, but i'm young, live in the US, and finding anything about classical music one must really DIG. at least in kentucky.

i just got done buying a whole plethora of classical arrangements/choral arrangements, so i'm sure i will finally discover the composers behind so many pieces i've heard but never truly known!

cheers,

aric
