Has anyone sold a car on eBay?

Hello wonderful Forum people
Has anyone here tried to sell a car on eBay? What were your experiences - was it worthwhile, or are more "traditional" methods (eg an ad in Auto Trader) morte effective.
Many thanks
Kevin

I know a guy who sold an old Audi S3 and he got much more than he would have otherwise/what it was worth. But there's risk associated with ebay - I'm not using it any more.

I tried to sell the wife's 02 BMW last year.
Advertised in Auto Trader - got no serious enquiries. Was constantly hassled however by companies claiming to have zillions of willing purchasers on their database if I was willing to cough up £75 for the pleasure.
Tried my luck on Ebay - only got silly offers.
Expect to sell at under the guide price.
I guess it depends on the age/model/price as to where you advertise.
As a related question, I have still got a £13k BMW 320d SE Compact on my hands - Anyone have any ideas where I could advetise to stimulate some genuine interest ??
Regards
Adam

Kevin/Adam,
Surf over to Pistonheads.com. You can advertise free there as well. Seems to work well for most who use it.
Cheers,
Steve

i've sold a car on e-bay not too long ago (admittedly, a mk1 golf gti, so they are quite collectable these days)
had loads of mails to reply to, and a major time waster too. thought i didnt know what i had, and offered a rediculous price(and i mean rediculous!!) when he won the auction at the selling price. tosser!! (gave bad feedback, deserved it BIG time!
sold again to another bidder, lovely chap. horses for courses really, you will always get tyre kickers whichever way you sell.
e-bay final fees were not cheap tho'. would NOT sell a car through e-bay again.
