Editing previous posts

Have I missed the following in the complaints about the forum?

I have changed my system, and when I went to edit my entry in 'system analysis', the edit was rejected because one can edit only for within 1440 minutes of the original post.

Since most forum participants change their systems regularly, but not on a 24 hour basis, is the thread any use?

Ah, well. I went from a Grado Sonata to a Linn re-built Karma, and it was a good change - perhaps greater than going from a 72 to an 82.

Many of us have put our system details into the 'About xxx' field of our profiles.

Whenever you post there is an icon at the bottom right which links to your profile.

My entry in the 'System Analysis' thread is just a comment telling the reader to click the link to my profile. The profile can be updated at any time, which gets around this problem.
