Shameless Plugs - Concerts in Cardiff and Bristol 20th November

If anyone's interested:
The first concert by a new, good quality amateur orchestra called 'City Ensemble' is taking place on 20th November at the University Music Department Concert Hall, Corbett Road, Cardiff.
Programme is:
Burtch: Celebration Overture
Shostakovich: Concerto No 1 for Piano, Trumpet and Orchestra (soloists Chris Williams, Piano and Phillipe Scharte, Trumpet)
Dvorak: Symphony No 9 (From the New World)
Conductor is Simon Lovell-Jones
I'll be playing in this one and I'm hopeful that this will be a good performance (If I don't wreck it
)
If you live nearer Bristol.....
The New Bristol Sinfonia is performing at the Victoria Rooms, Clifton on the same night (unfortunately - without the clash I would have been playing in this one too
). This is also a superb amateur orchesta and well worth a listen if you can make it. Programme is on the website and includes Strauss Tod und Verklarung.
