Could anybody tell me Which of the Formula One teams operate from the UK and which of them offer tours of their facilities.
Cheers

Maclaren, Williams, BAR, Renault,RedBull(Jaguar that was) and Jordan are UK based. What do you think they are like NAIM and offer tours and care about Joe public? I think you have to know somebody in the organisations. Jordan might be a little closer to public than the others, they are based at Silverstone.
Try their websites.

I did entertain a vague hope of seeing a F1 tema HQ next year while in the UK, but you're probably right. There's not much on their websites at all. The season will be in full swing when I'm in the UK so I guess that's just when they don't want plebs walking around.
On the same note, can you or anybody else recommend soem good car museums to see in the UK?

When are you coming?
I can find out who to ask at BAR, they do tours for clubs and other small groups but not (AFAIK) on a formally advertised basis.
In terms of motor museums where are going to be? What sort of stuff do you want to see? There are some quite serious historic motor racing events in the UK that may be interesting. Next year in August is the 100th anniversary of Shelsley Walsh hillclimb, the oldest motor sport venue in the world still in use. Look up the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the date has just changed since the British GP was reinstated. Not my sort of thing but quite highly regarded.
I suppose the significant motor museums are Beaulieu, Gaydon, Donington (mostly racing cars) but they're all a bit static, IMO.

I worked freelance at Wiiliams F1 for the last 4 months (my contract has just expired) and they will receive visitors at £60.00 a time and that is only when there is a group of at least a dozen.
F1 is about money.

We're coming at the very end of April. Apart from the detour to Salisbury to visit Naim we're planning to head for Scotland. However, we will have seven weeks in the UK and no planned itinerary so we'll be able to travel at will. My only request so far has been Salisbury, but if I say I want to go to Silverstone etc we can fit that in. We will likely be passing through Manchester as both my wife and father-in-law (who is travelling with us) are Coronation Street fans (sigh) and will want to have a look at the set if possible. So mostly Scotland but if we take a week or more to get up to Scotland from Heathrow it won't be a problem. I will have to look up Donington and Siverstone on the map.
Mick, I'd agree that F1 is about money and I'd add that its about spending a lot of it too.
Cheers
