AA or Green Flag

Posted by: Fisbey on 11 January 2005

I'm currently with the AA who have provided excellent service, however my bank offer free (limited) cover with Green Flag.

What would people advise - cancel the AA and go with Green Flag or stay with the AA?

My AA cover (homestart etc.) is £99 per year. The Green Flag cover seems to be similar but will only relay you and your car 10 miles maximum.

Any advice/thoughts - thanks.

It depends on how far you roam from home!

An alternative is the breakdown cover offered by your insurance co. This will probably use Green Flag but you may be able to get it cheaper through them and they will probably offer different cover levels.

For instance, my ex-employer offers 4 levels of breakdown cover.

I go to the midlands to see my folks fairly often so I'd better check my new AA cover and also contact my insurance company as you suggest - thanks Smile

I had full Green Flag cover via Direct Line with no relay mileage limits last year costing £99. Renewal cost though was £120 because I made a claim

I therefore renewed with Green Flag via Tesco for around £80
