3G Wireless Internet Card

Hi

Anyone using or heard comments about the Vodaphone 3G/GPRS card for wireless internet? Am considering using it with my laptop on my travels.

All ears...

Geoff,

You should find opinions at http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/

I think the feeling is that Orange & T-mobile use a slightly better card than Vodaphone.

A friend runs a 3G (UMTS) card in his notebook, and regularly sees 300kbps. When I tried it the impression was just a notch or two below my home DSL (though the 3G network isn't heavily loaded yet; and that was with the optimization/compression service on). So if Vodaphone's 3G is UMTS and not wimpy EDGE I'd say you'll be pleasantly surprised speed-wise. A smartly deployed compression/optimization service adds even more perception of speed to the experience, if Vodafone offer it.

Me, I'm waiting for HSDPA. Smile

Edit- Having just scanned the board above, I found a review of the Vodafone card here.
