New Dark Ages

And so, as widely predicted, it all comes down to Ohio, where the forces of darkness have been laying their plans for four years.

As for the popular vote, here's the man from Stratford: 'Tis the time's plague when madmen lead the blind.

...and there are none so blind as those who will not see.

(...or as stupid as those who will not think.)

The chumps have re-elected the chimp.

The Islamic fundamentalist world is overjoyed at the result.

The Americans get what they deserve - that's democracy.

But do the rest of us deserve it?

Regards,

Steve.

What's particularly frustrating for me (I'm American) is that now when I travel abroad, I'll be increasingly the object of hostility from those whose country I'm visiting. I voted for Kerry, but the average Moslem in Malaysia (for example) won't know that. I bet stories of Americans being assaulted (at least verbally) will become more common; which will lead to Americans travelling less, and becoming even more ignorant of the outside, modern(!) world.

There's no more excuse of a stolen election now; we the electorate are responsible.
It may be lost on most of the world that almost as many voted against Bush as voted for him.
