greeny the I agree that the Rush Live DVD has the vocals to quiet in the mix but it is a lot better than the reality of them live. I saw Rush live at Wembley 2004 and you couldn’t hear the vocals. Very disappointing but then again the drum kit was mic'd up brilliantly and sound great!
The last DVD I bought has yet to arrive and is “Karnataka Live” before that was Dio “Evil or Divine”

'Festival Express', Documentary is well dated in style (eg. bloody annoying split-screen etc..) but top notch vintage footage of the Dead (with Pigpen), Buddy Guy and the Band.

Sade "Lovers Live"
full of sultry grooves,
it is a two disc pack that includes a "Lovers Rock" cd.
Very good.

Martin D, I can recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/B00005Q66Z/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/002-5085886-8128010?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=dvd
I actually didn't buy this dvd yet, but have been keeping my eyes out for it. But I do have it on a video, recorded on the night/morning in the 90's when it was broadcast directly on TV.
Cheers,
Claus

Tori Amos "Welcome To Sunny Florida" 1-DVD/1-CD
Ms Amos on Bosendorfer and various keyboards with primarily electric bass and drums. Very very good.
Drive-By-Truckers "Dirty South Tour - Live At The 40-Watt" 1-DVD Recorded in the DBT hometown of Athens Georgia USA, the strong smell of PBR and the southern thang that the Truckers do oh-so-well. Use caution - y'all might get dirty. Very good.
Josh Rouse "The Smooth Sounds Of ... " 1-DVD 1-CD. Truely excellent pop sounds recorded on New Years Eve 2003/2004 in Josh's hometown of Nashville Tenessee USA. So many smooth grooves, it is completely intoxicating. CD is B-sides and rarities. Excellent.

The same as Hawk! I saw the PG "Growing Up" DVD at the Naim night at PJ HiFi in Guilford, playing through N Sats. It was awesome.
Even looks and sounds damned good on my rather more prosaic HT sytem.

The Who Live At The Royal Albert Hall, from a few years ago; what a surprise! Rather than an ageing crew on a cash-in reunion tour, Roger, Pete, the Ox and Zak Starkey (now Oasis' drummer) played a show crackling with power and emotion. A real reminder of what rock'n'roll is supposed to be about; makes the posers of today (all the bands on NME's front page) seem pale and feckless.

Elvis Costello "Club Date - Live From Memphis"
Alicia Keys - "Unplugged"
Two stellar examples of why this medium is so freakin' cool.
The EC is an intimate show in Memphis, tickets were $20 US, venue capacity 250, and the show rocks. Guest appearance by Emmylou Harris on several songs. Simply terrific.
The AK - I could ramble for hours about just how special this is. Stellar production, an incredibley tight band with 4 amazing back-up singers, guests, .....yadyadyada. I have pursued the joys of music and sound for nearly 50 years - this is one of those very special moments when it all works. On first viewing/listening, I sat there in awe of what I was experiencing. Tears of joy, goosebumps, astonishment at the immense talents of everyone involved. Repeats have been no-less moving. This is very very special stuff - GET IT!!!!!

Procol Harum Live at Union Chapel; a great setlist and great setting (old Gothic church in Islington). I believe PH are the great underappreciated classic rock band; they should be playing to crowds at least as big as those attending, say, Moody Blues concerts. Tracks like "A Salty Dog", "Homburg" and (of course) "Whiter Shade" still raise goosebumps. That combo of full-time piano & organ is nearly unique in rock (they did it before the Band did).

Absolutely.
My favourite PH track is She Wandered Through The Garden Fence and Conquistador is a great track to kick off a debut album.

Space Night - Best of Earthviews
From the German TV series 'Space Night'
Views of the Earth from Space, set to contemporary german electronic / electro music music. like Aural Float, Insect Jazz, Move D etc.
With all the UK/US cable / satellite music channels, you think one could deviate from the Hip hop / Rock / Pop formula, and come up with something like this? Apparently not?
