I thought a new thread was needed.
My last music DVD was:
Fischerspooner - DVD #1
With all of #1, all the videos, a documentary, artwork, and aboout a dozen remixes of Emerge, 15th, Invisible etc.
Nice!
ITC - Ian Smagghe - Suck my Decks

Procol Harum Live at Union Chapel; a great setlist and great setting (old Gothic church in Islington). I believe PH are the great underappreciated classic rock band; they should be playing to crowds at least as big as those attending, say, Moody Blues concerts. Tracks like "A Salty Dog", "Homburg" and (of course) "Whiter Shade" still raise goosebumps. That combo of full-time piano & organ is nearly unique in rock (they did it before the Band did).
I saw Tori Amos live at the Union Chapel a few years ago. Awesome venue, very very atmospheric. Those pews dont do much for ones rear end though.

Voice of the Beehive - Don't call me baby.
I used to love this band. Quirky and great fun, and wicked live too.
This DVD is a real blast.

Richard Thompson - "Live From Austin City Limits" July 2, 2001
With Danny Thompson on bass and Michael Jerome on drums, RT on acoustic or electric. Jazzy, folky, rockin' - you name it, these three are masters of it all. Amazingly good.

Rather hoping Santa might drop that one down the chimney. I just hope the DVD sound is better than the Wembley sound.

I can't comment on the sound at the Wembley gig as I wasn't there. I saw the band at Manchester and the sound at that concert wasn't that great.
However the sound quality on R30 is much better than the Rush in Rio DVD.
Visually it is stunning.
You'll be well satisfied if Santa delivers you a copy.

"Mad Dogs and Englishmen" Joe Cocker. A real time capsule of a film!
Posted on: 21 December 2005 by HTK
The sound on R30 is easily ahead of Rio - but it bloody well should be. Still not brilliant though. some of the archive clips on DVD2 sound better. So still no cigar - but heading in the right direction. A Show Of Hands still has them beaten for balance if not outright fidelity - even on VHS! I wonder if that will ever make it to DVD?

Not sure if it counts but I watched "The Blues Brothers" last night. Some wonderful music on there, both the covers and some of the originals, especially John Lee Hooker, playing with what was actually some of Muddy Waters band. I couldn't believe how good Donald "Duck" Dunn's bass sounded through my little Auidovector M1s.

Jeff
I have the cd of the same event, which I really like. I have been a fan of Hiatt since the mid-80's. I think he is often overlooked as a very gifted songwriter.

I must admit to not being a fan of music dvd's...btw thats not off topic, i'm a writer and so when the hi-fi is on I am hunched over a keyboard staring into my screen hoping that missing pixels will become muse bearing pixies.

Still cant stop watching AC/DC - stiff upper lip, live at munic and watching angus's rip roaring faces and strangling that neck on his poor sg guitar. (ringing it's neck!
