After reading your thoughts on the BBC or Beeb, I send you glad tidings. Another great Aussie product will be shown on the aforementioned network in the near future.
Who can resist a show which has now gone three seasons with an average audience of two million each week. Even outrating "The Bill"
We don't export much[thats for sure] but when we do better watch out.
So trade in your Naims or export them to us at the right price and we'll give you more great Aussie product.

Yeah, Kath and Kim is good Aussie comedy. The malapropisms are classic - the conversation about renovating the kitchen with solid monogamy benches etc. Interesting the Brits are buying it.

Let me tell you a little more about Kath and Kim. The comedy is set in Melbourne,in extreme suberbia and revolves around the relationship of a mother and daughter and there aspirations. As Kim, known as Kimmie by her mother Kath says in a line which has become iconic amongst the series groupies...
" I want to be effluent, Mum"
You have to really listen to this show as well as watch some of the hilarious slapstick they come up with.
It reminds me of radio comedy and early British comedy on the tube.
This is a show you will love or hate. Mrs. Lomo leaves the room when it comes on. But then she didn't like Faulty Towers too much either.
The series has obviously been shown in New Zealand and if they like it too and admit it ... oh no I can't believe that. Must be a fellow Aussie using a false address.

I can see that this topic is a little too highbrow for most readers of this forum[exception Deane, who has his own axe to grind], so we will consign it to the dead letter office where it will remain until it shows on the good old Beebs later this year.
It will be exhumed when all of you closet Ozophiles contact me requesting autographs of 'KATH and KIM'
