A plea to naim

Ditch this piece of s**t software that is infopop.
Its a dog, its slow, it rarely works and there is so much better out there.
The new mana forum may have rubbish content but at least its fast.
Jesus christ.

Gary,
I have just up-graded to broadband and the Naim forum is even slower now,
Frustrating or what!
Regards

AT least the search process works - or at least it did several weeks ago

Guys
You're right. I'm on BB now and sit elbow on desk, chin on hand, staring at screen, day after day waiting for the pages to show. Yawn

I found it was my firewall which slowed the forum down.

I reckon it's OKish as long as everybody times it right and does'nt hit send at the same instant.
If two people somewhere in the world post a reply at exactly the same instant (which happens pretty often) the whole thing throws a fit and slows to dead stop.
I have boradband and I get connection time outs because it takes so long.
Listening every day planning to "not fade away"

Guys
I don’t want this to be a whinge fest but I’ve just spent over 16 minutes trying to reply to a single item on the forum with a BB connection
Martin
PS with or without a FW

Yeah - me too. It seemed to completely grind to a halt at 5.30pm.

Garyi,
I never have any problems, perhaps you should get rid of the toy computer?

I tried to access the Naim Forum last night and between half five and eight it was unobtainable.
The frustrating thing was that every other page I tried to access was available,
why is it only the Naim forum that is not available?
Regards

I spoke too soon...
My PC is faster than a greased turd off a polished stainless steel shovel (3.4Ghz P4, 1.1 mb broadband, 6800 Radeon), but tonight the Naim forum is running as slow as a very slow thing proceeding slowly through treacle on a Sunday morning.
My apologies Garyi. It's time to ditch infoplop.

I discovered yesterday that this forum is not written to an open standard - it is written to favour MS products.
This I find very annoying that we are being pushed to run a single companies interpratation of HTML
I wonder what bribe the Info pop programmers were given - special acces to new code, technical support????

The build of the forum table is very different between IE and Mozilla - on the same PC and OS, Mozilla takes quite a few seconds to draw the table (of say the Padded Cell) whereas as with IE the table is drawn very quickly - so I am assumimg that MS specific commands are used to define the table format.
My view is that InfoPop are not testing their sw with a range of browsers.
