LCD TV's

Hi,
We are looking into a TV for the bedroom, and the space saving appeal of a flat panel mounted on the wall seems like a good idea.
Screen size would only need to be upto 20" max.
Any of you using an LCD TV in such a way?
What manufactureres do you suggest?

I have seen a large screen Gateway that is pretty horrible. the blacks are grey with lots of little white pixels in them, I think it is an LCD. I'd stay away from that one, When you go looking look at the blacks and dark colors as a measurement factor.

I have been looking for an LCD TV myself recently.
I have been told (from one department store) that there only 3 manufacturers of the actual LCD screens (Sharp, LG, and Samsung). The other manufactures add all their own design / connections / sound etc.
Anyway, if you're looking for best picture, CRT still provides the solution, at the expense of a huge box ! With LCD's i understand that the better resolution will give a better picture (makes sense) and some proprietory system of controlling motion, so moving objects in the picture frame do not leave too much blur.
Personally, i like the look of the JVC screens.

Some of these are getting very cheap now and the push towards larger LCD screen sizes of 30" & 32" is pushing the technology forward too. Some of the lesser screens are just computer monitors with a TV card, but the real ones are finally getting there now. It was mainly the horizontal movement that they couldn't do. Go to Comet or whatever and see as many as you can, get a choice and then look on-line for a deal. I'm going to a 32" LCD or plasma as soon as I get my finger out.

Hi Andy
I too have been looking for the kitchen/family room to save space and stop the Sky piped from the room being squashed
Prices seem to be falling. I was tempted by the 15" LG at £289 from unbeatable.co.uk but more so for the latest best deal is the Beko 15" at £199 from Richer sounds but these are still 4:3. For 16:9 Richer are doing a Relysis 17" for £299
However I cannot vouch for the picture/sound quality and I suspect prices still a have a way to fall
