ECM records

I own a large collection of ECM discs. Recently I received two copies of two discs (Anuar Brahem's 'Les Pas du Chat Noire' and Tord Gustavsen's 'Changing Places').One copy of each disc was made in the US and the other copy was made in Germany. Comparing the two versions of the same discs I noticed a difference in sound. I liked much more the German discs that had a warmer and more open sound. Has anyone else noticed such differences?
