From an email from Freak Emporium...

NEW PORCUPINE TREE RELEASES!
Up The Downstair 2004 (re-recorded)/Staircase Infinities Double CD - Special
Pre-Order Price £10.99

After a long wait !!! Up The Downstair has now been totally remixed with real drums.
Porcupine Tree's second album from 1993 is certainly the band's space rock classic, laced with dark experimental atmospherics it features gems such as "Burning Sky" the title track and "Always Never". The album is plastered with Steven Wilson's fluid guitar work and Richard Barbieri's brooding synths. As a bonus this release also features the long deleted Staircase Infinities mini-album on the second disc of this set. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS ITEM WILL DEFINITELY BE RELEASED ON THE 21st OF FEB 2004 The price of this item will be £11.99 after the date of release Due In: 21/02/2005

Don't hold your breath!!! Mine's been on order for what seems like years.

For those of you contemplating dipping your toe into the Porcupine Tree Ocean then get yourself down to fopp where the expanded 2*CD of Coma Divine and Signify can be picked up for £5 (well they can at the fopp in Manchester anyway) - Bargain, you have no excuses. Smile

Thanks for the info Seagull. I have 'In Absentia' and new expanded, remastered, double CD versions of 'Coma Divine' and 'Signify' (what is that whacky cover picture all about?)

Sounds like I need to get my order in for 'Up The Downstair'.

Is it distrubuted by Snapper Records? - they were very helpful (and generous!) when I received my remastered, double 'Coma Divine' with two Disc 1's.

John.
