This reminds me of an old football question...
Can you name the English league clubs whose names begin and end with the same letter (Charlton Athletic is your starter for 10)

Nice try,
York City used to be in the League, now in the Conference and were usually the one that people never got.
I believe Celtic are still in the SPL, either that or Matthew owes the hooved one £1M

How about Northampton Town?

Northampton Town are indeed the other team. Good to see that you do acknowledge that football clubs do exist outside the confines of the Premiership.

Indeed, they provide an amusing diversion.

Ok, next question...
Name the three England players who have three O's in their surname.

While we're on the subject;
Q. Which football team is named for a town, but doesn't actually plat it's games within the town ?
(nothing to do with MK Dons)

Chris:
So they're not playing at Bath City's ground anymore? I used to go and watch them week in, week out at Eastville in the early 80s, but I haven't been keeping up lately. Obviously.

Davie

My dad's granddad, who was born in about 1865, used to run a pub in Plumstead called the Royal Oak, and was a founder member of Charlton Athletic (I think it started off as a boys' club or maybe a pub team). It has thus always a tradition in our family to support the Addicks. Unfortunately when my dad started taking me to matches when I was about seven, Charlton were on a losing streak and after a few games decided I would support a better team, so (much to my dad's disgust) I supported the team that had, three or four years previously, won the World Cup for England, namely the mighty Hammers. Still, at least I wasn't like my brother, who decided to support Liverpool.

Not football related but nevertheless a bit of silly fun. Can you name 10 parts of the body that only have 3 letters in them. No slang allowed e.g.bum or latin.

Clive
It still amazes me how threads go off topic

Shame on you Kevin.....leaving the Addicks because they were /are crap.I have supported Pompey since 1959 and their recent success has left me feeling quite odd.Still,I am confident that we will be able to regain crapness soon.Yours in hope Tony
