Kraftwerk Remasters - Anyone heard them yet?

Posted by: Tim Williams on 28 July 2004

I saw three of these the other day and wondered if anyone had taken the plunge yet. The packaging is extremely disappointing and there's really no indication that they are the new Kling Klang remasters other than a tiny 'Kling Klang Studios' credit on the rear.

Anyone heard any of them?

Not yet but I will investigate. Have you bought any yet?

I read somewhere that the remasters were due for release in September. Of course, this could be wrong but perhaps it's worth checking with the record company that these are the real thing before buying any.

The reason I posted this in the first place is because I though I HAD bought three of them (from Fopp in Glasgow). They had shop stickers on the front proclaiming them to be 'remastered'. They weren't.

Buyer beware. - If a return journey didn't involve a four hour round trip I'd take them back...

According to an interview with Ralf Hutter in the current Mojo, the albums from Autobahn through to Tour de France are in the process of being remastered. So I suspect the Fopp stickers were "exaggerating".
