Went to see Bill Nelson last night at the Irish Centre in Leeds. He was superb and is still a master of the guitar. He brought back the glory days from the 70s with Axe Victim, Futurama ans Sunburst Finish to name but a few.
If you get the chance to see him and his new band you won't be dissapointed. Oh all those memories I had seeing him play on the pub circuit in and around Leeds, amazing.

What are the essential BBD/Red Noise/Bill Nelson purchases ?
I have the feeling that "Red Noise" won't have aged gracefully ?
Would "BBD-The Very Best Of" adequately cover the bases ?
(We had LOADS of Be Bop Deluxe on vinyl way back then).

Hi Rich
No he did not play Adventures in A Yorkshire Landscape, sad really cause that track is one of my all time favorites of his. From Axe Victim he played Night Creatures and No Trains to heaven. From Futurama he played Sister Seagull, from Modern Music The Gold at the end of my rainbow. He also played Quit Dreaming and get on the Beam From same album.
And many many more, Furniture Music was excellent from the Red Noise Era
Hi Brian
I would say that The Best of would be a good start. But nearly all of his very early albums are the best for me, also because they bring back so many memorys.
Axe Victim, Futurama, Modern Music, Sunburst Finish, Quit Dreaming all great albums. When Red Noise came along for me it was a change in his music, therfore for me not as good.
