Where do you buy your audio CDs from?

Who does everyone use.. any little gems other than "the usual suspects"?

Tastes are pretty much anything except classical/jazz.

TIA,
Paul

ok, my "usual suspects" were/are cd-wow, play, secondspin, rexlexcd, amazon and that's about it.. be interested if there are any other cheap/reputable mail order places out there.

I seldom seem to find myself in the stores looking at the shelves as I find I go blank, I find most music via p2p and Amazons "people who brought this also likes" links.

CDZone are a very useful source particularly if you are looking for a specific release. They often list and stock several for each title. Quite a lot of Vinyl is available too, sometimes at quite competitive prices (like less than the CD!).

Take a look at cutouts at salemusic.com. Not a place to look for anythng specific, but a great place to browse jazz, classical, or world music. At the prices (usually about 6 bucks a disc), you can afford to try out lots of new stuff.

And if you fancy trying something a little different, away from the mainstream, then CDBaby takes a lot of beating. Loads of interesting music from independent artists/producers, good long sound-samples and inexpensive shipment to the UK. What more could you ask for Big Grin

Hi Paul

You may have seen postings from myself, banging on about the superior sound of USA made discs (particularly with American artistes)

Thus; I mainly use Djangos of Portland Oregon.

A couple of new, full priced CD's with the postage will probably still cost less than buying them here (and they sound better).

In stock discs take a week to ten days to get here.

I also use Tower (USA) whose site has a good track sampling facility.

Amazon or Play (inclusive prices) for the other stuff.

And you find out what to buy from the Bob Harris show.

Happy listening.

Cheers for that link, looks like a second secondspin IYSWIM and they do used CDs which is always good IMHO, me being tight :-)

Do they ship in jewel cases? Only ask because s/spin ship with just the CD & sleeves for a bit less..

regards,
Paul

Paul;

Djangos ship the genuine cellophane wrapped article, in a 'bubble wrap' plastic envelope.

What's the point of getting a new CD without its jewel case and paperwork?
