Concert for George

The "Concert for George," a tribute to George Harrison that was filmed at the Albert Hall, was broadcast tonight on the local PBS station (NYC). During it, a young, white, female singer with a startingly good voice sang a song (that I didn't recognize). She was the only female singer who appeared while I was watching the show. Who is she?

Thanks for the response. Yes, judging by some photos on the Internet, that's her. I'm really surprised she hasn't had a bigger career. I assume the Joe Brown who was on the tribute show (who'd I'd never heard of either) was her father...

You assume correctly,
www.allmusic.com have all the details (she's the Sam Brown listed as "rock" in the period 70-00s). Her first album did quite well, but after that she hasn't really had much acclaim as a solo artist and has ended up doing a lot of backing work, particularly with Jools Holland.
Cheers,

I saw her on the Pink Floyd last event at Earls Court (I think) way way back (12 years ago?). She deserves to be much better known; maybe her time is yet to come. Let's hope so.
