2nd Midland Riders evening (translated as costing me loads in new CD's!)

Hi,
Roger40 and Judy were the excellent hosts to the 2nd riders evening last night.
The journey down to Northampton was far easier than the journey back, due to drivers on the M1 who could not read signs saying get into the nearside lane due to roadworks!

Anyway, attendees were Roger Poll, Nigel Ravilious, Cymbiosis peter (to be from now on known as Big Pete!), my wife Shelley and me!

System was: CDS3, 552, 500, NBL's, Fraim, and the best bit being the remote dimmer fr the living room lights! Big Grin Do have to say this is the 1st time I have listened to such a system for so long in a domestic room and it sounded fabulous.

Music: Various tracks were played from the following CD's:
Little Feet: Waiting for Columbus
Jass at the Pawn Shop: (Again! but on HDCD Japanese import)
Elaine Elias: Dreamer
Suzanne Vega: Nine Objects of Desire
Star Sailor: Silence is Easy
Ginny Owens: Blueprint (HDCD)
Damien Rice: O
J.J. Cale: To Tulsa and Back
The best of Tony Joe White
Michael Smith: Freedom
Jimmy Smith: The cat...The Incredible Jimmy Smith.
Bruce Hornsby: Halycon Days
Telepopmusic: Genetic World
Eric Clapton: Unplugged
Winter Chill 3: Various
Beach Life-The Salinas Sessions mixed by JonSa Trincha: Various
Chilled Zazz: Various
Mary Black: Babes in the Wood
Depeche Mode: Exciter
Willis: Come get Some
Jazz Delights: Opus 3

I reckon its cost me again about £100.00 on purchases, but that's is not relevant in relation to the excellent company and chat I experienced from all who attended the evening. Roll on the 3rd evening at Roger P's!

Due to me not hearing properly I got Julie's name wrong and misheard it as Judy. Apologies Julie...

I would like to add my thanks to Roger & Julie for the excellent hosting of 2nd Midland Riders evening. Roger you have a fine sounding system, but just imagine what dedicated mains spurs would do Big Grin

Despite a miserable journey back up the M1, see Andy's comments, it really was a great evening.

Sorry for the time-lag, but I would also like to say a big thanks to Roger and Julie for hosting a great evening. Everything was spot on. Some of the music was OK too Wink

Should I bring my hard rock and metal next time, or leave it until the time after that do you think? Big Grin

I look forward to the next gathering with great anticipation.

Hello Riders!

Just found the thread, what with me being a forum apprentice and all that. Sorry Janie and I could not make it. Spartacus will return Smile Looks like a good time was had on both the system and music front. I will now have to go and have a listen to some.
