I NEVER cared much for Valhalla for the systems I used 'em in, but I could see for the systems they used ( I remember one of 'em used Hovland kit ) I could see they might work.
The Valhalla did okey in a system with a warmish slant to suck off the *fat*.
One other lead I was familiar that they used was Siltech G5 leads. I've tried one of those cables and I see they won't work in their systems. And certainly not with a Naim kit.
Once I tried their power cord vs. Naim's stock cord.
Guess which one had more positive impact on the Naim kit?

Tom tends to spend every living minute on this forum and then takes a week or so off to regain his sanity.
He will be back

Unlike Mick who takes a week off to let everyone else regain their sanity.

Normally when someone takes a week off, they don't dissolve their Naim Forum account - take a look at the member info (or rather lack of member info) next to Tom's postings.

Adam, any explanation? It kinda looks really odd, like Tom's forum persona has been snatched by alien lifeforms...

I will miss Tom's presence on the forum. His website is still alive though.

Tom's username now appears in black. That only happens if a member has been banned or they are deceased, afaik.
The only other guy to have been banned, to my knoweledge, and subsequently appear in black was some pete8883 (or somesuch random assembly of Roman numerals after "pete") after his racist outbursts.
Even Marco, Vuk Vuksanovic and Tony Lonorgan haven't been banned to that extent.
Regards,
Steve.

That would be correct.

Would you care to discuss on this thread any reasons given by Tom for a voluntary withdrawal of forum membership?
Deane
Posted on: 02 December 2004 by Adam Meredith
No - and I do not think you would expect me to discuss what was a personal decision.

It was an innocent question in the first instance. Honest. There I was, sitting on the loo having a read when....
I had no idea that we'd end up in X-Files territory. Maybe this thread needs to go. I understand there are moves afoot to allow people who start threads to moderate them and ask people to leave? So you're all banished. GET OUT!

You can log on to the Forum in the loo...?

Well I think it is all a bit attention seeking and rather pathetic to "resign".
If you don't want to participate in an internet forum, all you need do, is not log on to that site. It is unlikely that anyone will notice. Oh I see.

Yes I can Jon. Can't you?
True enough Doc but remember, this is the Naim froum. Chucking toys out of prams and sulking in public is practically the AUP. I'm sure Tom was just entering into the spirit of it.

Well I've been chucking my toys out of the pram a lot since yesterday afternoon.
I'm particularly upset that no-one, and I mean no-one, has started a thread for me called 'JonR - This Is Your Thread'.
Haven't you any consideration whatsoever?

But Jon, someone did, but it was pulled because it was too contentious!
