A friend in need - converting from UK to US/Canada spec

Hi,

A friend of mine in Dubai wishes to purchase a new HiFi system - he would like a Naim. Here in the Middle-East we use 240V UK-type systems (and so, therefore, this is what the dealer sells).

However, he will eventually be moving back to his native Canada and so is wondering if converting the PSU and/or anything else(!) will be a major problem.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

I moved to Canada from the UK a few years ago, bring my Naim gear with me. There should be no problem converting to 110v.

I shipped my Hicap and 160 to the Canadian distributor Dimexs to change the voltages and to get them recapped. The cost was $342 canadian including shipping for the pair. There is a possibilty that a dealer could do it, which would obviously be quicker and would save shipping costs.
