Phono cards

Now that I have my Hutter tables sorted out I have decided to revived my vinyl playing system. This is a Lingo LP12, Akito, and ATOC5. Currently my 102 does not have any phono cards and I was wondering whether installing them would deteriorate the sound quality on the other line level inputs?

Music is the answer.

John--

I have not tried it on a 102, but on a 72 and an 82 the answer is definitely yes. I removed the phono boards and played my prefix'd LP12 and CDI through both and in both instances the music was considerably better with the phono boards removed. Surprisingly so, in fact--the difference was much larger than I thought it would be.

Cheers and Happy New Year !

John,

Why not have the best of both worlds and look at Naim's outboard phono stage, the Stageline?

Don't know its price though, but I guess its in the £350 ballpark. The other thing is that it'll need a separate PSU, not sure whether a NAPSC will do.
