Room With a View (another photo thread)

Thought it might be interesting to see what people saw from their lounge/garden/terrace or whatever.
In my case I work in a bedroon and stare out over the north Derbyshire hills, a nice enough rural setting.
But I'm sure some of you have more interesting views. So lets see those: City scapes; Back alleys; trees; neigbours bedroom!!! etc
PS - Photo taken 10 minutes ago through the bedroom window

Hey Geoff,
I'm going to have my garden re-designed in the near future and your pic has given me some very interesting ideas!
Thanks!

Here's a quick snapshot of our backyard, as seen from the balcony outside our bedroom. We're in the process of adding a little, bricked patio area, which explains the bit of excavated soil on the deck. There's also a ravine back there, but sadly, no babbling brook or quaint waterfall.
BTW, my office is in the room on the right edge of the picture. It also has a door onto that balcony, which is a pleasant escape when I'm having a tough day.

There is still quite a bit of snow on the higher hills but I doubt there is much above Crieff.
It's a shame I don't have a camera with me today. My office is attached to the Livingston football ground and has a balcony overlooking the pitch. The Scottish womens team are training there now so I've just been out on the balcony for a look.

This picture was taken at the top of one of the White Mounth munros on Saturday and the hills you can see in the background with snow on them are the Cairngorms.
There were quite a few patches of snow higher up (1000m+) on the hills we were on as well. I always like this time of year for hillwalking as it's fun encountering snow on a hot day (hot enough for sunburn).

I like canals and that'd be a great view to have out the window. I used to live nearly as close as that to the union canal.

A very good point. The lower part of the house (formerly the lock house) is below canal level, built into the embankment. It had a slight amount of water leak from the canal last year and we are currently taking British Waterways to court over compensation! In general we figure that it has been here for 200yrs without collapsing/flooding or generally falling apart so it will be good for my lifetime in all probability.
Anyway a waterfall in the garden might be quite nice.

Yeah, sorry Bruce. Being a structural engineer I can't help but notice.

Well I can't top the staggering views you all seem to have, as I live in a small terraced house in narf london.
But we've done the best we could with the garden, and this is the view from my back door.
