Nait 5:gets louder the longer I play
Posted by: kj burrell on 02 May 2004
Anyone else noticed this. For the first half hour or so the volume stays consistent, then gradually builds up. I occasionally have to turn the volume down a little 30 mins into listening. It can be the same cd, so nothing to do with production. With previous hi fi I've turned it up after 30 minutes as my ears got use to the level and wanted a little more clout. Can anyone explain this to me?
I should add that I leave the whole thing turned on 24/7.

Not me - I often find myself turning the volume down (normally when the wife comes in!)

This problem is usually caused by sitting on the remote.
Seriously, I can only assume there might be a fault with the resistor ladder volume thing in the Nait.
I did have a problem with my 112 a few times, whereby the balance would suddenly shift over to one channel and had to be re-centred. It's not done it for quite a while now so I assume it was a run in glitch.

Does that mean it's in need of repair?? The Nait is around 5 months old now so I think any run in should be completed.

Kevin,
Your dealer is the best man (person) to answer this. Why don't you get him to check it for you.

Yes I notice this too, but don't consider the effect dramatic; I'd say somewhere after 15-20 mins of listening the volume seems louder. I've had my nait 5 three years.
