Policemen busses and CDs/DVDs

You wait for what seems live ages and then you’re knee deep in them.
Thumping onto the doormat in quick succession this morning came Rush Replay X3, US remaster of Zep 4 CD in miniature LP facsimile sleeve (let's hope it sounds as good as it looks and feels), Caravan, For Girls Who... remastered CD, and if that wasn’t enough the DVD of Drop The Dead Donkey season 4.
I may be gone some time….

That would be great - thanks Liam. If feedback is good I'll be well tempted - I think this is a really stand out live effort.
News for Rush geeks is that A Show of Hands has come across very well with decent picture quality and a sound balance that my telly and ears could cope with. I know that some didn't have any problems with Rio and R30 but I thout the sound balance of the former was just wrong and that of the latter was better, but still not there.

I still haven't got round to buying any Rush yet! I did get MinMax though and it is a fantastic live album.
I'll be interested to know what you think of the US Zep4.

PS Harry. Try to get to hear a Hiline with your CDX2 - a "bargain" upgrade!

The Lovely Hell will probably get to LZ4 before me Chris, but she's the resident expert so I'll be interested to hear her thoughts - although I might beat her to it.
I don't think I'm a candidate for the Hiline because my non Naim amp uses phonos. I'm wary of snake oil but do agree that a good cable makes a big difference - it's just finding one that does what it says on the box. I've no doubt that the Hiline is a cracker, having moved to Harmonic Tech interconnects and hearing what difference can be achieved if you find something worth the outlay.

The remaster of Zep 4 is a bit smoother and less strident in places. Not slushy and processed, just somehow easier on the ear. No greater insight into the music or detail that wasn't there before. I could take it or leave it but am happy with the result. It's the best release I've heard yet, just not by a huge margain. Every little helps though.
