Hadcock on LP12

Anyone have any experience with a Hadcock GH228 on an LP12? I know this was passe years ago, but with the ARO, have opinions changed on early unipivots?

The GH228 was a great arm for the price (I gave 50UKP for mine back in 1978). Inspite of its vestigial appearance it handled both high and low compliance cartridges with aplomb, including the insanely high complianced Sonus Blue Label. On the same deck (a Michel Focus One) there was no doubt that it handily outperformed the identically priced SME309mk2.
Setup is a bit of a pain, especially playing with the variable damping trough. Azimuth was also prone to go off, requiring a little twist of the eccentrically weighted counterweight. But the bearings should last forever.
I never heard it in a LP12, but I imagine it would work a treat there.

I had a Hadcock on my original LP12 and used it with both Decca and Linn Asak cartridges. It worked well compared to what was available for its asking price in those days. However, it was easily surpassed by Linn's Ittok which was IMO far far superior and with which I replaced it.

I too had one on an LP12 with the Decca London - sounded very good but almost as unstable as the Syrinx PU2; the ARO feels a whole lot safer than the hadcock.
Whilst great for the price (I paid 35 quid!), I too feel it was sonically left well behind by the Ittock and RB300, and indeed by the PU2 as well (all of which I've owned).
However, its a great arm if you can get one cheap and is a fiddlers delight.
