The Helikon is very clean, has good bass control and tracks better than the Beta. It has much more depth too. The Beta has an objectionable treble by comparison. The Helikon is definitely worth the extra over the Beta if you like what it does.
However, in my view, it doesn't communicate like the Beta does in that it's not as involving or engaging. Although it's very good, I find I switch off when listening to the Helikon (NB - on an ARO). Now I know that Dave Dever really rates the Helikon, so make what you will of my comments.
