Malcolm,
thanks for replying.
noticed you've tried them on carpet on parquet on concrete
but most have on wood (perhaps concrete/tile/stone) floors
my floor (under carpet) is a wooden suspended one.
and not particulary level under the IBLs.
cutting through the carpet doesn't work..uneven contact.
banging the spikes in is worse as they jump out of their cavity soon enuf.
a mana soundbase (under the IBL) does its thing for a bit
but eventually shows the same symptoms.
i can do a screw/nut/bearing under board/slate (under soundbase) under IBL,
like some here have
i'll prolly coach bolt a laminated board through the carpet instead,
don't want the board sliding on the bearings.
but once i change to wood floors...no more floor screwing,
so it's chips or small wood bits or board (via blutac)
naim/users say chips work under spikes,
mana/users advocate no metal under spike
aaaarrrgghh!!!
no doubt i have to suck it and see,
but no-one seems to have used chips with light speakers, w/ or w/o soundbase on carpet.
anyone used a loaded mana rack on chips on carpet ?
